Removing a background used to mean an hour with the pen tool. Today an AI cutout takes a couple of seconds, and the only manual work left is a quick tidy-up around tricky edges like hair or thin straps.
Step 1 — Pick a good source image
Results scale with the input. Sharp focus on the subject, even lighting, and reasonable separation between subject and background give the cleanest edges.
- Avoid heavy motion blur
- Avoid subjects that match the background colour
- Shoot or crop reasonably tight so the subject fills the frame
Step 2 — Upload and let the AI cut it out
Drop the file onto the editor. Picscut detects the subject, builds a precise alpha mask and shows the result on a transparent checkerboard so you can judge the edges immediately.
Step 3 — Fix anything the AI missed
Use Magic Grab to restore or delete a whole region with one click, then switch to the restore and erase brushes for fine detail. Every stroke is non-destructive, so undo always gets you back.

Step 4 — Export
PNG keeps transparency. JPEG and WebP are useful when you have already replaced the background and want a smaller file.
